DIY Salt Dough Christmas Ornaments

Hey all,

Salt Dough Ornaments are super simple to make and a lot of fun for the entire family.

Here is the recipe we used for our ornaments.

You will need:

  • 1 Cup Salt
  • 2 Cups flour
  • 3/4 Cups boiling water
  • Mixing bowl
  • Cookie sheets
  • Rolling pin
  • Cookie cutters
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint brushes with water and paint tray
  • Skewer
  • Red and green ribbon

Put the salt and flour in a mixing bowl and slowly add the water.

Mix until forming a dough  (not sticky) and you can add more flour if needed.

Smooth out with a rolling pin and cut with the cookie cutters and punch a hole with a Skewer.

Let air dry over night, then bake on 120 degrees for 3 hours.

Once cooled they are ready to paint.

They also wrapped them for different family members as christmas gifts.

I also took a black Sharpie and put their names and the year on the back of each ornament. Then looped a ribbon through for it to hang.

The kids really enjoyed doing this project.

Well guys that’s all for now, more Christmas fun to go.

So be sure to come back tomorrow.
