10 Sites that Pay you to write

Hey lovelies,

It’s Money Making Monday!

Today, I put together a small list of websites that will pay writers/bloggers for posts or articles.

I have personally submitted articles or blog post to a few of these sites and am currently working on a piece for a couple right now as well.

Being a SAHM I have a little time every morning before the chaos of the day starts.

I get up at 6:30 am and drop my hubby off at work, which is seriously 8 minutes from my house and come back home and enjoy an hour or if I am lucky 2 hours of silence while I drink my Coffee and do some writing while listening to the news or listening to a favorite TV Series like Vikings or TrueBlood. Then my three minions wake up for some cuddles and we start our day.

But, for a stay at home mom an hour of writing every morning and then some though out the day when I can get a break getting paid around $50-$300 per post or per article is not that bad. You can easily earn a full time income just from freelance writing.

I’ll stop babbling about my mom life and share my list I pulled together…

So here we go:

eCommerce Insiders- This site pays $60-$150 per article that is about online retail.

Freelance Mom-This site pays $75-$100 on post about running a business as a parent.

The Penny Hoarder– You must discuss the pay with the editors, they write about money-saving ideas.

The New York Times Modern Love Column-This site roughly pays around $300 for articles on topics that relate to modern love.

Well Family (The New York Times Parenting Blog)-Accepts articles about parenting, you make the pitch to the editor and they pay $100 for every article that is accepted.

Cosmopolitan- This site pays $100 for articles on Colleges.

Babble-This site pays $100-$150 for parenting, entertainment, pregnancy, beauty, style, food, and travel posts.

Stork Guide- This site pays $50 + per post on pregnancy, parenting, newborns, and toddlers.

WPHubs– This site pays $100-$200 for posts on wordpress related topics such a graphic design, themes and so on.

UpWorthy-This site pays $150-$200 for 500 word posts.

Well there you have it. Good luck on your journey and I hope this list helps some of you out. I am currently working on something for Modern Love Column, something for Babble and Well Family. I really hope I can land a pitch with at least one of them.

until next time,

  1. Very helpful for a new blogger like me! One question- do these sites accept only a few of all the submissions they get? Do you end up wasting a lot of time writing articles that you don’t end up getting paid for? Just unfamiliar with how it all works.

    1. That is a good question and the only answer I have is yes it is a lot of work and disappointing when you don’t land the article but I look at it as experience and a chance to do better. But if you do your research and give the editor what they are looking for in a professional manner you can land almost every pitch.
