Frozen Themed Birthday Party

Hey lovelies,

So for my daughters 5th Birthday party she wanted Frozen.

I’ve probably seen the movie 1000 times and sing let it go in my head daily at least twice a day.

Gotta love being a mommy.

So here is the set up for her party.

She loved it… I hope you do too.

I made basically everything by myself, I had a lot of Christmas stuff left over that was just perfect for the Frozen theme.

So first off the back drop was a purple plastic table clothe I pinned to the wall.

The first thing I always do is the Banner and work the rest of the decorations around it, I feel the banner is always the center attraction of the party decorations, It pulls everything together.

So the Birthday Girl Banner

PicsArt_06-19-11.39.11

to create the banner I cut out flag like pages from pink, purple and teal scrapbook paper, then I placed white sticker letters on each piece of flag paper in the center, next I hot glued snowflake confetti I found in a Christmas tote, lastly I put a hole in each side of the flag paper and strung light blue tulle through the back of each paper until banner was complete, as shown in the photo.

PicsArt_06-20-03.19.12

Next I made her Number 5

This was made out of a piece of cardboard, white and purple tulle and snowflake confetti. All I did was cut out the 5 paint it white, hot glue the beginning of your tulle to the corner of the five and wrap the white tulle around and do the same with the purple over the white. Lastly hot glue the snowflakes in desired place.

20170507_135406-1

Then I made her a Elsa and Anna photo frame for her wall and all I did here was download some photos from google and glued them together. Then I found some cute snowflakes on google printed them out, cut them out and glued them to white construction paper and stuck them to the wall.

20170507_135358(0)

I also had some star and snowflake ornaments that I had in my Christmas tote, so I upcycled them turning them silver, teal and purple. After that I took some old spiral hanging ceiling decorations I had left over from her first birthday which had Dora on them, well I took Dora off and put on the stars and snowflakes and hung them up with the streamers. Then one table had a snowflake table clothe with snowflake confetti on it and the other table had a Frozen table clothe. All the utencils, plates, cups, and napkins were purple, teal, and snowflakes, ohh the cups were red.

The next thing I did was print off Olaf masks, Elsa Crowns, and Anna Crowns. Punched holes on the sides and tied tulle to each side to tie around each childs head. I also printed off a Olaf craft, which was Do you wanna Build a Olaf craft.

20170507_135341-1

ohh I also built a terrible snowflake pinata because I could not find a frozen pinata locally. Which you can see on the table in the first photo.

So after I did the decorations and the craft set up for the kids I put together the snack bar.

20170507_153955

20170507_153935-1

  • Mini Sandwiches
  • Cheese balls
  • Powdered donuts
  • nacho cheese deritos
  • cool ranch deritos
  • cheese and cracker tray
  • iced animal crackers
  • Cheese burgers
  • Hot Dogs

The Punch Bowl

20170507_153928-1

  • 2 liter sprite
  • large can pinneapple juice
  • polar blast hawiaan punch
  • vanilla bean ice cream
  • 1/2 bag of ice

And the last thing was her cake. I am NOT a professional or even close to one but I think I did a okay job on my daughters cake.

20170507_121216-1

Well there you have it, a cheap and easy Frozen Birthday Party for a broke suburban momma.

Until Next Time,

~Gruada Mom~

5 ways to use Essential Oils with Household Items

Hello Lovelies,

I love Essential Oils! They smell amazing and have many healthy benefits. They treat all kinds of things from bug bites to burns, sweet aroma to spicy aroma, headaches to menstrual relief. You can use essential oils in all kinds of things as well especially for household items and beauty items.

I’m a mother and a hippy at heart, if it’s not natural and safe for my body or the earth I personally don’t want to use it.

Essential oils are a huge part of my life and I use them with everything again from beauty products to household items.

Here are 5 awesome ways I use Essential Oils in my home and you can too.

PicsArt_06-19-11.15.46

1. Potpourri

I use fresh rose buds in a mason jar and put about 1/4 cup of Almond Oil and then about 20 drops of essential oil, and a candle warmer. I love using exotic sandalwood or just sandlewood with the roses it gives a sweet soft smell and makes the whole room smell amazing.

20170529_133050.jpg

 2. Candles

I like to take non-scented candles from Wal-Mart and melting them down and mixing the wax with essential oils. This blend here is a citrus blend using lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit. Depending on the size of the candle will depend on the amount of drops you use. Here in these shells I have 3 drops of each oil.

20170608_125224

3. Homemade Air Freshener

This homemade air freshener is really simple to make just take a small mason jar, poke holes in the lid for breathing and fill the jar with baking soda and put about 15 drops of essential oil in with the baking soda and mix it up a little, put the lid on and you have an air freshener.

20170608_113617

4. Scented Olive Oil Candle

Here is an olive oil candle, another simple quick diffuser for those essential oils. All you need is a mason jar, lantern wick or wire, a paper clip, olive oil, and your essential oils. Use the paper clip to hold the wick center by wrapping it around the wick and clipping it to the side of the mason jar. With this jar I used 20 drops of essential oils. Ohh and just a little tip do not use any other wick unless you plan on having a fire.

20170608_112752

5. Clothes Pin Diffuser

This is super simple, hot glue pom balls or felt stickers to clothes pins and stick it in the air conditioning vents. I like to put about 20 drops in each cotton ball, it makes the whole room smell like lemons… or whatever aroma you desire.

20170530_122353

All my essential oils come from Melaleuca the wellness company, there like is called Pure and I can order special packs as a prefered customer. My citrus pack cost around $30 with a savings of $13. It was a really good special running. Check out Melaleuca the wellness company and their line of essential oils today. Membership enrollments are just $1 right now. Click here to enroll.
